Manual recliners use a handle or body-weight mechanism instead of a lift motor. Compare the release control, upright and reclined dimensions, upholstery care and the room needed for the footrest to open.
Operation
Confirm whether the chair uses a side handle, pull tab or push-back movement, and whether the user can operate it comfortably.
Fit and space
Check seat width, depth and height together with the full reclined footprint. Manual does not automatically mean compact.
Material care
Follow the care information for the exact upholstery. Test any cleaner on a hidden area first and avoid unsupported treatment claims.
